El Cortez

El Cortez is a historical landmark in Downtown San Diego. This 15 story, 85 unit condo complex is one of the oldest residential buildings in the downtown area. Built on the site of Ulysses S. Grant, Jr.’s former home in 1927, this building originally held 85 apartment suites and 32 hotel rooms. Renovated in 1990 after the great depression, failed business ventures and neglect, El Cortez now has the luxurious amenities like many other Downtown San Diego high-rises. Amenities include two sun terraces, a refitted 1950’s pool, indoor spa, and a gym. For more information on this historic landmark, visit http://www.elc.cc/home.html
